Hello lovelies! Today I am doing a makeup product review which I never normally do, but… I think it is something worth sharing. I am not a huge makeup wearer and only ever wear it when I go out. If you know me, my everyday routine involves moisturiser, lipbalm, spot concealing if I’m having a bad day and sometimes mascara. I am not a fan of thick clumpy lashes but the L’Oreal Paradise Mascara is far from it.
Packaging
On first looks, the box looks pretty standard. I am liking the copper/ rose gold colour but I do wish that the product name was in black rather than white.
The tube itself however is a different story. The tube looks like a piece of copper coloured plastic which I must say doesn’t seem very elegant but actually makes it look quite cheap. However I do think that if the writing was in black, then again it would look better. Nevertheless, it’s not about what’s on the outside but what’s on the inside.
Description on the website
“Take your lashes to paradise with intense volume and spectacular length. The Ultra-Soft brush coats lashes with a silky smooth formula, enriched with lash-loving castor oil. Lashes feel feather-soft, without any flaking.”
Instructions
“Comb the Ultra-Soft brush through lashes by moving back and forth from root to tip. Layer multiple coats for even more volume.”
My opinion
Castor oil is rumoured to help thicken and lengthen lashes naturally so that’s a bonus with this mascara, although I have only used it a few times so can’t say if it has made a difference. It also claims there will be no flakes and it seems to be living up to that expectation so far.
There are some things I think it could get rid of in the description and on the box. Firstly it boasts about offering “intense volume” which I don’t think is the case. I personally like this with less volume but I’m sure if you put on more than a few coats, the volume will build up. On the box it says that it is a “pleasure to apply” which seems a bit useless and daft to put on a box.
BUT WAIT! Although I seem like I hate this mascara, this is far from the truth! I love it. It lengthens my lashes loads and separates them like no other mascara has ever done. It doesn’t lift them as much as my Lash Sensational but it still does a pretty good job.
After the mascara (1-2 coats) no eyelash curlers used
Another thing I love is that when you take the wand out, it isn’t drenched in clumpy bits of mascara so I hardly have to wipe any off.
Overall
This is a fantastic mascara which is being sold in Superdrug and Boots at the moment for £9.99 and then it will go up to £11.99 so I suggest you pick it up before it is priced up. (I got mine for £8.98 because I had NUS discount which I talk more about in my how to save money post). I have heard that it is meant to be a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (which I don’t own), so let me know if you have both and what you think.
